AxCrypt

AxCrypt is a utility that has been designed to protect your confidential and important information easily and quickly. It will do this by encrypting and hiding the folder that contains the files that you want to secure. You will only be able to find the folder and access it by entering the correct password.

Once you have installed AxCrypyt, it is quite simple to use. To encrypt a folder, you just have to right click on it and the program will show in the menu. Here you can select 'AxCrypt', click on 'Encrypt' and then insert the password that you want to use. The program can also create a key file, which can be used instead of the password to open the folder. AxCrypt uses a secure 128bit algorithm called 'AES-128'. To be able to use the 128bit protection to its full potential, you can either create a key file or use a very secure password that has symbols, numbers and letters, and has a minimum of 22 characters. Decrypting the folder is the same process as encrypting it, you simply have to select 'Decrypt' instead of 'Encrypt' and either put in the password or the path to the key file.
